Filed vs Unfiled - there is a difference!
Pros:
Very free blowing with rapid articulation and good centered sound. Blow well straight from the box with little break in requires, consistent between batches. Switched from Vandoren ZZs, these give me better tonal control and projection on my Conn 12m Baritone
Cons:
Currently my favourites, no complaints
Other:
These were bought after an experiment with the unfiled reeds which seem to give a slightly buzzier sound, and lack the stability in the altissimo range that the filed version give. I previously didn't believe there was any real difference in the blowing qualities between the two cuts, but my subjective experience is of a greater control of the sound produced and better resonance at full volume from the filed reeds.
