Pros:
A well-designed, effective item at an affordable price.
Cons:
It can cause a vibration when not in use, but this can be checked by pressing it down more firmly onto the string.

It works, but keep your left hand well up!
Pros:
It works - it damps the sound reasonable evenly on a viola and is easy to put in place quickly, which matters when composers - as they do - leave you very little time.
Cons:
I find that it tends to migrate towards the bridge and interfere with the sound. It's necessary to keep the left hand high (which doubtless is a generally a good thing, unless your orchestral partner can't see the music through your instrument).

Pros:
Easy to use, goes on quickly and comes off easily. For the price you cant get much better than this.
Cons:
Some people may not like a "loose mute" on the tail piece but this has never bothered me.
Other:
Really good mute especially for orchestral playing when you need quick changes. There is nothing complicated on this device which is why it works on so many levels.

Change of mute type is working well.
Pros:
Quick and easy to put on.
Cheap and effective.
Stays on the instrument so doesn't get lost.
No vibration problems compared to the metal legged type of mute.
Cons:
Fiddley to use. Little lip which must go over the bridge is a bit of a pain, compared to the metal legged type, but I've had problems with vibration occassionally from this type so am trying the rubber sort. So far it's going well and I like it.
Just wish they could make the metal legged type with a soft coating on the legs.
Other:
Good price and very fast service from stringzone.
