First produced in 1993, the Vandoren V16 is an extension of the Java. Produced with an even thicker tip and a longer pallet, the V16 answered to the many Jazz musicians who were seeking a more brilliant, percussive tone. The V16 is particularly well adapted for very modern jazz styles.
Product specifications:
- Soprano Saxophone
- Individually wrapped in Humidity Barrier packaging
- Available in different strengths
- Medium-Thick Heart (More than Java, less than Traditional)
- Strong attack
- Deep, rich sound

Pros:
The vandoren V.16 reeds gives me a very solid tone without any edge. I like the cut of the reed.
Cons:
The only thing I could comment on is the price. It isn't that there are not price well for their quality but I am always looking for the most affordable price which is probably common in everyone.

Not the quality they once were...
Pros:
They come gift-wrapped like something Father Christmas would bring. Cellophane, cardboard, foil, then the plastic thing they live in. Great if you're into the ritual.
Cons:
Inconsistent quality. V16s used to be by far the best reeds you could get. Not any more.
